Senior advocates highlighted the need for protestors to be heard, with one noting Jantar Mantar's proximity to centers of power. The Supreme Court is also considering a petition seeking criminal contempt against Rahul Gandhi for allegedly leading a political procession into the court premises, an action described by a petitioner's counsel as an attempt to browbeat the judiciary.

In a separate development, the Delhi Police informed the Supreme Court that preventive measures taken on October 10 were based on intelligence and aimed at preventing public disorder. The police stated that detainees were provided with meals and that only cellular internet was suspended. Petitions have also been filed alleging police excesses during protests on October 10, 11, and 12, seeking an independent inquiry and the preservation of evidence.

Meanwhile, the Delhi High Court agreed to hear a plea to stop a protest planned for October 16 at Connaught Place. The Mumbai Police have also issued a notice to actor Imran Khan, an American national, directing him to leave India by October 28 for allegedly violating immigration laws following his participation in a protest.
