Das and Ranka were taken into custody for allegedly trespassing at Jantar Mantar, violating bond conditions, and obstructing police officers. They have been transferred to Tihar Jail. The Delhi police recently declared Jantar Mantar denotified as a protest site.
Dipke stated on X that the protest's message is that "waving the Tiranga is not a crime." He urged supporters in Delhi to gather at Central Park in Connaught Place at 5 p.m. For those unable to travel to the capital, he encouraged the organization of 'Tiranga marches' in their respective cities.
Before their transfer to Tihar Jail, Ranka commented that their struggle is for "constitutional accountability and the integrity of our democratic processes." He added that restricting protest sites and arresting demonstrators would only strengthen their resolve to defend people's rights.
The CJP maintains that its movement is dedicated to safeguarding democratic rights and accuses the administration of using police action to suppress peaceful dissent. The arrests have drawn criticism from several opposition leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Supriya Sule, Mamata Banerjee, Mahua Moitra, Arvind Kejriwal, and M.K. Stalin, who have voiced their solidarity online.
